Not the Day to Die: The Mysterious Nilgiris’ Part 3

In the Arms of Mother Earth

In Part 1 of this chronical "Not the Day to Die:  The Mysterious Nilgiris’", I jested that being surrounded by that level of raw nature may have been “too strong a prescription”.  That was perhaps an understatement.   The resort was literally within the arms of mother earth resting deep in the thick, dense, untamed forest.  Unmistakable, was the unpolluted air, green, lush trees, fragrant plants, rich foliage, content forest occupants, sparkling rivers, clear skies and more. It was far removed from the noise and chaos of traffic, hustle and bustle of the city and the ebbs and flows of daily life.  It was the perfect refuge for rest and restoration, mental and physical wellness, peace and quiet.  More importantly, unbeknownst to me at the time was the powerful impact of the location on my mind, body, soul connection with the environment, the need for a deep body detox and the impetus for a spiritual reawakening.  Images of the resort at the time of booking looked nothing like it did in reality.  It is a stunning, pristine, magnificent resort but not something we may have chosen.  The thought of being so close within nature may have been perceived as too daring, bold, adventurous and somewhat intimidating.  However, it was definitely where we were meant to be at that time and that is how it came to mysteriously be.

The Value of Spiritual Experiences

I have written in previous posts about “what is real, and what is not” as well as the superficiality of the mind, body experiences as being shrouded by the great illusion (maya).  Cognizant of this fact, I give attention to mind, body experiences through the use of discernment.  I have myriads of divine, spiritual experiences, readings, communications, encounters, interactions and insights, which I deem valuable.  It is important to remember that all such experiences including those spiritual in nature are temporary, illusory, sensory and inauthentic however they provide invaluable insight, guidance, understanding, clarity and assistance relative to understanding the true nature of reality and the truth within the self.  We must be cautioned not to remain captured by the comforts, privilege or perceived exclusivity of such experiences or their value diminishes in vain.  They can be a rich source of wisdom, knowledge, guidance, support and importantly truth which is extremely influential in facilitating transcendence to self.  Spiritual knowledge from scriptures, gurus, introspection, experiences from meditation, self-enquiry, awareness and dissolving of the ego all aid to transcend the limitations of the mind to realize and experience the true nature of the self.

Is It About Life Or Is It About Death?

I continue to be baffled by people affirming or grumbling that “Life is too short, we should be…doing this or doing that”.  Some affirm it, ...
